Station 1 of the Chester Fire Department lies on Main Street within the Village of Chester and was the first fire company formed in what would later become the Chester Fire District.

Walton Engine & Hose was formed back in 1893 and was likely named after Walton Lake located in the Town of Monroe which directly supplies water to the Village of Chester.

Walton Firehouse houses Fire Police 913, Engine 914, Utility 915, Rescue 916 and Tower Ladder 917.
